I first heard the gospel clearly articulated during a class devotion, I was a candidate, just about to sit my final primary school examinations. As I listened to the message, I was drawn in and desired to be born again. Little did I know that God was tugging in my heart as he says in John 6:44 ” No one can come to me Unless the Father who sent me draws them…” He was searching for me.
Jesus continued to knock in my heart and I made a decision to be born again a year layer, as a form one student. I surrendered to him and invited him in my heart. He gave me the friendship and satisfaction I was looking for in the wrong places. I grew a deep desire to fellowship with him.
I met the Navigators through a roommate at University who invited me to a bible study she was attending. I started getting disciple as a third year student. This contributed immensely to my growth and walk with God.
When I was invited to Short Term Experience in Ministry (STEM) training, I felt inadequate and fearful. The lord kept affirming me through experiences, people around me and his word. The scripture the lord used to affirm me was Mark 8:35 “whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.”
After STEM training I joined DMLT (Disciple Maker Leadership training) in Machakos. I have grown in numerous ways:
- My walk with God,
- My character
- Sharing the gospel with others
- Leading Small groups
- Stewardship of time and resources
- Planning and decision making
I am glad that God has continued to sharpen my Vision and calling as he constantly calls me to himself.
I desire to see many young women and students Know God and live lives transformed by the Gospel.
