STAYING BUSY AT YOUR STATION DURING COVID LOCKDOWN

“I did not send these prophets, but they ran….” Not every word from the mouth of a prophet is prophecy. Not every word from a preacher’s mouth is a sermon.

COVID19 has come with a lot of fear. Many are frantically looking for answers everywhere. Prophesies abound. Some prophets may have prophesied in the past when God led them to, but now feel the pressure to say something – even though God has not spoken. Listen to how Jeremiah continues his message “… I did not speak to them, but they prophesied. But if they had stood in My council, then they would have announced My words to My people, and would have turned them back from their evil way and from the evil of their deeds.” Jeremiah 23:21-22 NASB.

The only pressure a prophet must be under is the pressure to LINGER with God. If he speaks without hearing from God, he brings CONFUSION to his audience, SHAME to himself and DISREPUTE to the Lord. So while it is important for us to know where we are in the end-time calendar, let’s focus on BEING the servant whom the Lord finds READY when He returns. Mathew 24 talks about the signs of the end times and I believe we SHOULD watch and pray. But this is how that passage concludes:

“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father…45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’…The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of…”  Matthew 24:36,45-50 NIV.

BEING a faithful servant of God, BUSY at our station is something we can all do as we eagerly await the unfolding of these uncertain days. Most of us are confined to the FAMILY. This is our work station FOR NOW. What has spending extended time at home revealed to you about yourself?  What has it revealed to you about your relationship with the Lord?  What has it revealed to you about your family?  What needs strengthening? It’s time to LINGER with the Lord. Some parents may need coaching in discipling their own children. We can help.

So, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” Ephesians 5:15-17 NIV.
