I work as a Construction Project manager with a contractor firm in Nairobi. I volunteer in High School Ministry where my engagement is mainly on weekends, reaching out to students and conducting Bible Studies. I was introduced to Navigators in 2007 after my high school and have been serving in HSM since 2008.
Ministry Journey
Leaving high school, I was concerned whenever I would hear stories about brethren who had been active in Christian Union circles but had ship-wrecked their faith upon getting into the world “out there”. Hungering to grow in my walk with God, I remember raising a prayer unto God to help me stand and grant me brethren to walk with me.
This prayer God answered the following year, 2007, when a friend from church invited me for Core Group. There my convictions were founded as I grew deeper in God’s word and enjoyed fellowship with my peers. The role of discipleship by my overseers was instrumental in my growth. The disciplines of the Word, Prayer, Fellowship and Witnessing centered on Christ have been pivotal in my life to date.
It was in my second year, 2008, while undergoing Operation Timothy that I sensed God’s leading me to serve in High School Ministry. The desire to share what I was learning and see others grow in their faith compelled me. I visited Starehe Boys Centre, one Thursday evening, and have been laboring there since with Macharia Ndugire.
I am motivated by Romans 1:16 and 1 Peter 4:10-11 as I seek to see the young men “continue to live their lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as they were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7
I took up leadership of the Nairobi High School Ministry from Aaron Munzaa in 2013.I currently co-lead the ministry with Anita Isige. We serve alongside 25 labourers, some of whom are campus students and others young working professionals. We currently are ministering in 7 schools, within and around Nairobi, namely: Alliance Girls High School, Moi Girls High School –Nairobi, State House Girls High School, Nairobi School, Lenana School, Shilce Secondary School-Riruta and Starehe Boys Centre.
Our continual prayer is for more labourers (Matt. 9:37-38) and expansion into more high schools. (Col.4:3a)
Core Group : An ex-candidates discipleship program aimed at helping high school leavers grasp the basics of the gospel.
Operation Timothy: A continuum of the discipleship programme, geared towards equipping the high school leavers to share the gospel and disciple others in line with 2 Timothy 2:2.
