My journey with the Navigators began during my second year at Machakos University. Growing up in a Catholic household, I always thought I was doing enough by attending church regularly, serving as a choir member, and helping others whenever I could. I believed that my actions defined me as a good Christian, and success seemed like a sure thing in my future. But deep down, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there had to be more to life than just being successful.
When Naserian and Markus (Field ministry staff with the  Navigators) invited me for Navigator Bible study, I eagerly accepted. I was captivated by the profound insights the students drew from scripture, insights that I struggled to see on my own. Determined to understand, I committed myself to consistently attend the Bible study, hoping to gain the same understanding as my peers. Through this journey, I began to notice changes in myself—a transformation that brought a sense of peace and purpose I had never experienced before.
After being in the Navigator Bible Study sessions for a while, I was invited to a church where someone shared the gospel in a profound way and invited me to receive Christ, and I came to faith in 2018. The changes I witnessed in my own life ignited a passion within me to share my faith journey with others and to deepen my relationship with God. With the guidance of mentors like Naserian and Norah, I navigated the ups and downs of my spiritual growth with newfound confidence.
Despite having feelings of inadequacy, I found encouragement in verses like 1 Peter 5:7 ‘Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you’ and Proverbs 29:25 ‘Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe’. This reminded me to trust in God’s plan for my life. Encouraged by this faith, I pursued further training in ministry. I joined Short Team Experience in Ministry (STEM) training in January 2022 and later on Disciple Making Leadership Training (DMLT) from September 2023.I believe these training experiences will equip me to serve as a more effective disciple wherever God places me.
My ultimate vision is to impact high school students. I long to see students grow in their relationship with God. My desire is to live as a fruitful insider among the Lost in the high school as a teacher, to see them grow in their walk with God, be able to feed themselves from the Scripture, live it out, and also get to the point of being able to pass it on to others, especially their peers.
My journey is a testament to the transformative power of the gospel and discipleship, and I hope to help others the same way I was helped—to embark on their journey of spiritual growth and growth in all aspects of their lives.
